GeBE Elektronik und Feinwerktechnik from Germering, Germany, now offers an ultra-flat, space-saving thermal printer of the series GPT-6572 in an easy-to-clean stainless steel housing. The printer’s flat surface design is intended for all hygiene-sensitive applications. Because for keeping closed fronts absolutely clean, it is crucial for selecting a printer unit that it can be installed flat, i.e. that it disappears smoothly in a housing cutout. But at the same time the paper compartment should remain accessible from the outside so that the paper can be changed quickly. The new GeBE printer meets all these requirements and provides even more: Its paper compartment can be easily opened by software command, which provides additional comfort while preventing unauthorized access. This printer needs very little installation space due to its dimensions of only W 92 x H 85 x D 150 mm and is controlled via the RS232 interface. It is used to print process data from sterilizers in hospitals, for example. As an important part of quality management thus the recorded values are available in real time. On appropriate thermal paper and under adequate storage conditions, the archived records are still legible even after 10 years.
